| I've decided to start a new blog on blogger. :) Acquainted with the night. Ciao. | | |
| I urge you to intervene in the case of Australian, David Hicks, who has been detained for FIVE (5) years in the US-run detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, without trial.
Prime Minister, as a leader of the democratic world that is challenged with addressing the threat of terrorism while also upholding the rule of law and respect for human rights, you have the duty to end this travesty of justice in relation to one of your country's citizens.
Bring David Hicks home. Try him in Australia and if the Australian justice system can find no ground or evidence to prosecute him, then David Hicks must be released. It is that simple.
The camp in Guantanamo Bay is a legal black hole designed to put detainees outside the rule of law and the US Administration beyond the rule of law. It must be shut down. The detainees held there should be either released or, if they are suspected of having committed a recognisably criminal offence, they should be charged immediately and tried in fair proceedings.
I call on you to bring David Hicks home to either face prosecution or be released; to oppose the use of torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment; and to call for the closure of the prison camp in Guantanamo Bay. Sincerely, Lynn Dang (PS. If you too are disgusted that David Hicks has been imprisoned for 5 years without trial and you believe that Hicks has the right to trial by an impartial and regularly constituted court with the presumption of innocence and all necessary means of defence, please do something about it. You can start here.)

| As the title suggests, randomness. :) PS. I am thoroughly enjoying the tennis. Yay for the Australian summer!!
My lovely chaise lounge where I spend most of my time, lazing in front of the tv or working on my laptop. I took this picture to send to Karim on the 2nd day that the couch was delivered (Karim was in the midst of shopping for one in Canberra and needed inspiration). Take note of the world's most awesome Shiatsu massage cushion.
The delightfully cool and asthetically pleasing salt-water pool in our complex. I swim here about 3 times a week. There is a sauna close by and after 10 mins of intense heat, hitting the water is just pure heavenly bliss.
Patrick's fish tank. It sits opposite our couch and sometimes, I sit there mesmerised deep in thought. The fishes are growing on me, we have had many fruitful bonding sessions. In the tank, there are gouramis, loaches, tetras, glass cat fish and some other variety.
Books! Books! Books! Admittedly, most of these are Patrick's but nonetheless, a great collection. All mine are still back at my parent's place. I did bring over his favourites like Murakami and Rohinto Mistry. I heart reading. :)
